Notes:
- I've had the first scene of this bouncing around inside my head since I decided to rework this as a novel, but I could not be happier with how it turned out. I mean, it's rough and needs a lot of editing and will probably lose a good 20% of the words I wrote, but I like the way the opening scene feels. And the one after that, too, where I introduce my time traveler character is very nice. It'll need editing, as well, but so far, I'm quite pleased.
- It's refreshing to be able to tell the parts of the story that were pure, boring, obvious exposition and technobabble in the original version from the POV of the character from the future. I can reveal things much less painfully, now, and to the audience but not my hero.
- Tomorrow, I believe I'll introduce the "villain." Of course, he's not a twirly moustache kind of a guy. He's got the same motivations my time traveler protagonist has. And for the same reasons. He just believes there are faster ways to accomplish what they both want.
- You may notice that although I'm still shooting for 50,000 words, I say that my expected total is 75,000. well...if I can write 2500 words per day, I can shoot for that. I won't know if I can keep up this pace for very long until I actually do or don't, so we'll see.
