Notes:
  • I wrapped up the destroyed wedding by making it all come out right in the end. Awwww! Now: MORE DESTRUCTION! MWAH HA HA Ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaa! *cough*

  • I'm writing a lot of exposition as it comes to me, sort of forcing it in place, but this is NaNoWriMo, so I don't have time to be delicate. At least I'm getting it all down. I'm defining how time travel works, after all.

  • My favorite bit from today's expository writing:
Modesty was something that had had to go out the window along with monogamy when the end had come. Not a lot of humans had survived to begin with, but far more men had survived than women. Luckily, the kind of people who were space colony pioneers were already not average, ordinary citizens. They were far more willing to accept change and to flout standards. Although there were a few monogamous families among the several asteroid colonies, by far most of the family units consisted of one or two women and several men, plus all their children.

At the rate they were growing, within a generation, the population would have more than tripled, and they would be hurting for room.

  • And yeah, I'm pretty sure I've read things like that before, but only because it does make sense when you suddenly have a very small population with more men than women. It's not a deliberate copy of any specific use of the trope before me, especially not that episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation with the Iriiiiiiish Iiiiiiin Spaaaaace!
