My mother just called to find out what my weekend plans are, and mentioned that "Lucky" was out on the carport.
"'Lucky?' Oh, God, you named him, didn't you?"
"Well, he was lucky to show up at my door."
So he's got puppy chow (which she bought) and chews (which she bought), is being kept off the back deck (terrority of the cats), knows about scratching at the door, knows about hopping up into the car when the door opens, and is not scraggly or in poor health.
I.e., this is someone's dog. :)
I told her to put an ad in the papers and see if someone claims him. Of course, this will be after she takes him to the vet and gets all his shots.
Reportedly, the cats "aren't afraid of him, but they don't exactly like him, either."
He has short legs, a fuzzy face (like a terrier) and large feet. Here's hoping his owner reclaims him. She so doesn't need a dog, right now, and I cannot take him.
