I mentioned a while back that I no longer just get songs stuck in my head: I get medleys.
Today's medley is on its second day. It's The Flower Duet from the opera Lakme by French composer Delibes + Bali H'ai from the Broadway musical South Pacific by Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Now, what in the name of bloody fishsticks do these two pieces of music have in common? I shall tell you:
Both have been sung (and sung decently) by Charlotte Church.
But here's the weird part: the versions stuck in an endless cycle in my head are not the Charlotte Church versions. :)
Go ponder that one for a while.

It's very simple, really. It's self-depravation. You *want* to hear some Charlotte Church, but somewhere in your psyche, you're not allowing yourself to. You're punishing yourself for something.
*coughs*
It's hard living in a Fishstick mind, innit?
;o)
