Yeesh. Another Stuck Song Medley.

And this time...it's just odd. It's like one of those word puzzles where you have to turn SNAKE into DEVIL changing only one letter at a time and making sure each step on the path is a real word.¹

In my case, I start with Enya's "I Want Tomorrow" at the point where she's singing

Waiting here; as I sit by the stone
They came before me, {those men from the sun.}

and then at that point because of an accidental musical similarity, I morph that into Madonna's "Live To Tell" at the point where she sings

{The secret that I hide,} will I grow old
How will they hear
When will they learn
How will they know

where the two parts in {braces} are the parts that my brain decided are basically identical enough to morph ENYA into MADONNA. In only one step. :) An amazing feat, indeed.

Weird as hell to wake up with this in your head.

That is a very odd and yet very interesting morph. Clever brain!

Now I'm curious to see if I can do that puzzle...I really suck at puzzles, so probably not, but I'm going to try anyway!

You stumped me - I can't think of a single common word that's one letter off from DEVIL.

No such word exists in /usr/dict/words.

I realize that's not the final authority, but it's the easiest one to test programmatically. :)

There's a word one off from DEVIL in my /usr/dict/words (it's not a COMMON word, but you can't solve half of these things with just common words).
