I wrote 1494 words on the story I mentioned in an earlier post, which I'm calling "The Surrogate" for now. I feel like it's about...1/5 of the way done, so it should come out to something like 8000 words, total, so that's what I'm going to use for the metric.

It's also nowhere near its finished form. I'm letting it suck so I can get it down, then I'll unsuckify it (yes, it's a word...now) during the edit phase(s).

And I have a 126-page screenplay-formatted script which is only just about ready to enter the final act. I envy your economy of words. Then again, I am trying to define a whole world...

:)
We'll see about my "economy of words," as you put it. I'm...really bad at estimating how long something will turn out. I only say it "feels" 1/5 done because I stopped at about 1/5 of the way through the "action" I have planned out in my head.
It could shrink to 4000. It could grow to 20,000. I'm...really bad at estimating how long something will turn out. :)
