Last night after the writers group, we all (minus Helga, again) went up into the coffee shop to chat. I was starving, so I got a cup (I don't know if it was large, extra large, huge, ginormous, extra-bigified, craptastically oversized, or OMG, THE GRAVITY OF THE CUP IS PULLING ME IN!) of Godiva hot chocolate. Made with milk that was heated in the cappuccino machine.

<insert foodgasmic sounds of pure, gluttonous abandon>

<pant pant>I...didn't know it could be like that. I think I might be in lust love. <fanning self>

I remembered to use protection, at least: I took my metformin and glimepiride, followed by a Pepcid AC chaser. I wouldn't want a one-night stand to turn into something more than it probably meant. For either of us. I don't need some tawdry fling to turn into a lifetime commitment.

And yet...I'm sure I'll go back. Oh, yes. I know it's wrong for me, but...how could I turn my back on that...sweet, creamy, chocolaty, rapturous joy?

Damn you, Godiva! Damn you!

Godiva is just a gateway drug.

Watch out or you'll find yourself at the cafe in Bratislava that has 60+ types of hot chocolate.

The best hot chocolate I had ever was in Madrid.

At home, I use Lake Champlain Chocolate Company's Aztec hot chocolate, because the bit of cayenne keeps me from overdoing it. Guittard's is excellent, too.

In Bar Harbor, there is a new ice cream shop called Mount Desert Ice Cream (http://www.mdiic.com). (Warning: overuse of animation and music!!) BH is on Mount Desert Island. Personally, I think they should have called the shop Mount Dessert Ice Cream, but I digress. Picture it, Sicily, 1938..

All their ice cream is homemade, and they do terrific things with chocolate--Mexican chocolate in cinnamon ice cream, hot chili chocolate ice cream, etc. I like their ice cream even more than Ben & Bill's Grand Marnier ice cream, and that's saying something!

Just one more reason why you must visit. *nod*

Yessssssssssssssss...
sip on over to the Dark Side!

But use protection.

Did you get to try the King's Cupboard Sugar Free Cocoa? Marcia found some for me and it Rocks.

If you like spicy chocolate, I must send you some Toadsweat. It's amazingly good on ice cream and/or apple pah. It would kick ass on your chocolate pah, too... hint*recipe*hint.
