I started using mycokerewards.com to record the points from those red bottle caps (or blue, for Sprite) with the codes on the inside.

Yeah, yeah, whatever. Keep reading. :)

So the rule has always been that you couldn't put in more than 10 codes per day. I guess that keeps people from getting hundreds of them from the dump and putting them in or something.

Each code is worth 3 points. So that's 30 points per day, 7 days per week, which—if my third-grade math skills are still relevant—adds up to 210 points per week.

Right?

When I went to put in my code for yesterday's Sprite Zero, a pop-up informed me that Coke was lifting the "10 codes per day" limit so you could put in an unlimited amount per day! Not all that relevant to my needs, but...yay! Or something.

Oh! And as an added bonus, they're restricting the total number of points per week to 120 instead of ten codes per day at 3 points per code for 7 days!

So that's a great...Hmm? Oh, wait. 210...120....

Hey, wait just a doggone minute! Coke is shafting us! This isn't "great news," Coke is...HEY! <shakes fist at sky>

This is called reframing.

Yogurt company used to advertise its 8-oz containers with "We'll never make them smaller!" When it went to 6-oz containers, the advertising slogan was "New look!"

Reframing. Or, quite possibly, watch the dancing monkey and not my hands.
