Notes:
  • I have written my hero character into a very dark place. He's been accused of a horrible crime he did not commit, but all the evidence (planted by agents from the future who are trying to disrupt his life in any way they can) points to it being him. I just left him sitting in a jail cell wondering what was going to happen to him next. But that wasn't him wondering that, it was his author. :)

  • Next scene is the future agents who are trying to keep him alive and on track for the Thing He Must Do™ that will Save or Destroy the Earth™ reacting to his changed circumstance...but they don't know what it's changed from, because from their perspective, he always went to jail for a crime he didn't commit. Only they can get him out of this. How will they succeed? Or will they succeed at all? Your guess is as good as mine, frankly. This whole thing with the jail crawled up out of my subconscious and asserted itself in the last couple of days, and I have no idea where it's going.

  • Actually, I think I know where it came from. I showed him being really heroic, running into a burning building to save people, so now I/the antagonists have to change him so that the heroism is beat out of him, so he'll make the other decision when the Time Comes™. It'll have to keep flip-flopping like that since it's his character that is what actually hangs in the balance. In the end, his decision will be his and his alone, and all of the things that happened to him in his life will inform that, just like in real life. :)

  • Time travel is hard! Let's go shopping!
