Notes:
- My goal for the week has been to catch the guy who was using me as his inspiration. He passed me by 10K words because of my lack or progress last weekend and on Tuesday when I had a torn cornea and couldn't write. I didn't quite catch him today, but I'm going to immediately get a start on Saturday as soon as I post this, finish out the scene I'm writing, and that should get me back in front of him. :)
- I went to a NaNoLanta Write-In tonight at the Thinking Man Tavern near the Emory campus. It's a nice place. Very cozy, and very conducive to intellectual pursuits. Met Emily, Charlotte, Katie (no Anne), Mmmeh (he was a low-talker and I never got his name), Angel and her husband John, and Elizabeth. All local writers. All much younger than me. And one with a non-fiction book already published, but under someone else's name (she ghost-wrote it).
- Below this, I've added a word-war widget showing my progress and that of SLMorgan, the aforementioned person who is (now) only a few hundred words ahead of me. And a region war widget showing Atlanta, Denver, and Dallas/Fort Worth. We are all competing against each other to try to come out on top, total-word-count-wise. Gonna be hard with fewer people. :)
- I needed three names for bit-part women characters, today, and I just did not feel like making up three names, so I opened Facebook and took the top three names I saw that were female: Nan (
slymongoose), Eileen (
pantsie), and Angie (
ladywhy). So, thank you, ladies, for your generous, if unintentional, contribution.
