Notes:

• Wrists didn't hurt at all today.


• "P Is for Prey" was originally intended to be sort of like Richard Connell's "The Most Dangerous Game," but with clones, each one getting successively better at escaping. But that was it. I didn't have a rationale. I had hoped I'd come up with one. That did not happen. So this morning, I just started writing. And eventually, a plot grew, and I am liking where it's headed. Imagine you were one of the avatars in a game like Call of Duty, only it's real. And you have no idea why people are trying to kill you, or how you got there, or basically anything. But you find that you have all these mad skills, like garroting and weapon use.


• I made it to 2772 words, and I will work on it a little after I post this because I think I can finish it shortly.


• Every word I write from last night on is actually a record for me in number of words written contiguously on a single project. I got last year's NaNoWriMo novel up to 93,000 words, but it took me until sometime in February to get the last 15000 words.


• Character names: Paul. No last name that he can remember. And the guard he garrotes is named Peters. No one else is named. Do you name the characters you kill in Call of Duty? :)


• Interesting things I had to look up: You know, YouTube is just awesome. I found out exactly how to use a garrote and how to do a fireman's carry with a dead body. In other news, some YouTube users are a little frightening.


• Genre: Dark Science Fiction
